We had lots of fun making natural playdoh at forest school today. We foraged for blackberries to mix into our doh then explored the textures.

This week we have been rolling tyres to increase our shoulder stability, observing how the water changes the colour of the bark on the trees and fining out which group of objects have fewer or more.

We have been learning how to chop wood using an axe and mallet safely in preparation for cooking on the fire.

In our literacy we have been drawing our bodies and our families so we decided to make them using natural objects at forest school.

The year 3’s made bows and arrows finding the correct sticks to make the bows.

We have been trying our juicy apples, counting natural objects and working on our gross motor skills today.

The year 4 children made bows and arrows. They were able to find appropriate sticks to fit the job of bow then another for an arrow.

The year 2 children were able to pick some juicy apples from our trees. They also cut disks of wood using a hand saw supported to make forest school necklaces.

The year 5/6 children were amazing searching for and identifying all different types of flora and fauna in our forest school area today.

We have been using the traditional Japanese technique to transfer natural objects on to paper using a hammer.

The Year 4 children found lots of interesting bugs in our area today.

It was a very hot day today. Children made sure they stayed safe by wearing hats and exploring in the shaded areas.

We put up a hammock today and had a lovely time relaxing in the shade.

Looking for bugs and wildlife.

The children showed resilience in keeping their tent pegs in the ground today. Substituting pots and pans for hammers to secure them into the ground. We also found a snail and made him a nice home.
