We are incredibly proud to announce that we have joined together with other local schools and the Children's Capital of Culture to take part in an art project. We will be working with Sculptor, Jason Thompson, who created the Parkway Man, the Rivelin Valley Chair and many other local sculptures, to create a sculpture that will hopefully become a landmark for Kimberworth. The sculpture will also be dedicated to Mr Rhodes, the ex-headteacher of Winterhill School, who sadly unexpectedly passed away at the start of this year.
3 of our pupils attended the event launch and shared their ideas of Kimberworth means to them to inspire the project. Some of the things that the children said, included:
"Theres always neighbours and friends to help you in Kimberworth."
"We all look after Each other."
"The people are like cogs that all work togethger."
"I like the nature that Kimberworth has."
