Our Governors

Hello and welcome our Governors page.

Our role as governors is to support and challenge the Headteacher and the school leadership team so that they provide the best education and learning environment that they can for all children at Meadow View.

We meet regularly during term-time where we discuss different aspects of school life.  Each governor has specific responsibility for a different area including Safeguarding, Special Educational Needs and Disability and Pupil Premium.  We visit school during the year to get to know the school and to meet pupils and staff.  This year we are hoping that we will once again be able to come to events in school and to meet parents and carers.  Meadow View is a partnership between the pupils, staff, parents and governors all working together to do their best for the children.

I joined the board of Governors at Meadow View Primary in 2021. I am Mechanical Engineer by training and currently a university lecturer. Becoming a governor is a way for me to contribute positively to the local community and the development of young minds – a thing for which I am passionate. It is also an opportunity to develop new skills and gain first-hand experience of the inner working of schools. In my spare time I like to read, go for walks in nature, speak with family and friends or just tinker with electronics.

Susan Gregg
I am Susan Gregg and I act as staff Governor for Meadow View Primary. I am lucky to work as Assistant Head Teacher with responsibility for inclusion and EYFS at school. Meadow View School is a fantastic place for children to learn and for staff to teach, support and nurture children. Meadow View’s Governing Body works tirelessly to pursue the very best for children, parent's, carers and the community and I very much enjoy being part of that. Outside of school I really enjoy gardening and trying my best to keep fit!

I am a parent of 2 children in school, I joined as a Governor in September 2021.  I work as part of the Genuine Partnerships ships and have a keen interest in parent voice and helping to build relationships.  As a family we love spending time at the seaside and spend lots of time meeting friends at weekend.

I work for the Department for Education where I specialise in pensions and equalities. I am hoping to bring a new perspective and ideas to the Governing body, considering the needs of the parents, teachers, and children. This is an exciting opportunity for me to engage with the local community whilst developing new skills and experiencing how schools really work. In my spare time I like to play football, squash, and go for long walks with my two dogs.
